Also known as Houston Heights, The Heights is a community that\u2019s found in the northwest-central part of Houston. With beginnings in the late 19th century, the area was already somewhat developed when the property was purchased by the Omaha and South Texas Land Company in 1891.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
At the time of the purchase, what would become known as The Heights already had a streetcar route, planned streets, alleys, and schools. Utilities were also available in the area.
