Stucco Restoration

Stucco Restoration Project in Hilltop

HILLTOP

The lovely Hilltop neighborhood gets its name from the fact that it is higher in elevation than the surrounding parts of the city. It is located in the heart of Denver with around 66,000 people and is home to dozens and dozens of highly satisfied LIME Painting clients. Hilltop is quick to refer us to friends, family, and neighbors and we are incredibly grateful.

Assessment: We met Stephanie on a cold winter day. She was concerned about major cracks developing in the stucco on her home. As she was not aware of options and how and if we could repair the cracks, we did a thorough walk around identifying handfuls of small vertical and horizontal cracks. In addition, a portion of the cement driveway wall was crumbling and we noticed heavy flaking of the concrete coating. We also noticed that the corners of multiple gutters were leaking and causing the wood soffits and stucco to attract more moisture and breakdown in those specific areas. In addition, there were vines growing over the top of the property wall/fence attracting moisture. We made several recommendations.

Advice: LIME began by power washing this beautiful two-story home. We thoroughly spot primed every crack in the stucco. All joints and seams were elastomeric caulked. Next, we removed the old smaller 5” leaking gutters and installed new 6” gutters appropriate in size for the home and tile roof. After masking and taping off windows and the home thoroughly, we sprayed the home with SW Duration Satin. There were areas of the stucco that were dry and soaking in the paint so LIME’s experienced craftsmen painters did a spot coverage coat to blend specific areas to consistency. We sanded, stained, and restored her entry door and cedar fence, restoring beauty to the home. Stephanie has been a LIME advocate for three years now and is a solid phone reference for us. We are so thankful to have met her.
