Evanston Ridge Historic District Home Project
This 1913 Ridge Historic District Colonial home in Evanston needed a complete exterior refresh.
The color choice by a previous owner was supposed to be inspired by the colors of Evanston High School. Her painter didn’t believe that she wanted an orange house, so she ended up with a brownish red.
When the current owners signed on with LIME Painting of Chicago, they elected to stay true to their home’s color scheme. For this project, we used the following paint from Sherwin-Williams:
As we completed the project, we identified a couple of areas that needed carpentry. The primary area was the soffit at each corner of the single story pop-out on the front of the house as the wood had begun to rot. We also replaced the front steps to change the pitch, as the owners were having issues with water pooling in the center, causing damage.
