Lincoln Park Interior Limewash

About This Project:

This building in Lincoln Park, Chicago was recently renovated into eight condos, and one of our customers took the opportunity to turn her new 4 bedroom, 3 bathroom unit into a work of art.

The client chose to do an interior limewash with a product from Color Atelier which we had to special order. All limewash designed for drywall needs to be applied by brush in multiple coats. It is this layering of the product that creates the faux finish.

The customer used the following colors and color combinations to achieve the desired effect.

The hallways and main living area were done in a coat of 150% Chevre and a second of 50% Chevre
The fireplace was 150% Chevre with a second coat of Plateau + Chevre. This was then sealed with a wax sealer
A combination of Plateau + Chevre for one coat and 50% Chevre for the second for the two bedrooms
Two coats of Minuet were used in the office
Ardoise was used in the bedroom.

The master bedroom was the showcase for the project. The dark color, Ardoise, created a beautiful effect with the light from west facing floor to ceiling windows. We also love how the client opted to only limewash a portion of the ceiling for a unique look!
