At We LIME Painting, we are beyond thrilled to have been chosen to partner with the San Antonio Zoo on their exciting giraffe exhibit expansion. As a team that takes pride in enhancing our community spaces, this project has been a dream come true for us. The San Antonio Zoo holds a special place in the hearts of many, being such a nostalgic destination for locals and visitors alike, and to have the opportunity to contribute to its growth has been truly rewarding.
Our role in this project has been to assist with the construction and beautification of two key elements: the new barn where the giraffes will soon call home, and a lodge that will offer guests the incredible experience of spending the night and even feeding the giraffes. The journey has been nothing short of amazing. We’ve been hands-on in building, insulating, and staining these structures, ensuring they are not only functional but also aesthetically pleasing and complementary to the zoo’s natural environment.
One of the most important aspects of this project for us was ensuring the safety of the giraffes. Knowing that giraffes often lick wood as it helps them produce more saliva—an action that aids in their thinking process—we made the conscious decision to use giraffe-safe stain on the structures. It was essential to us that we created a space that was both safe and enjoyable for these majestic animals, and we’re proud of the work we’ve done to help protect them in their new environment.
This process has been a beautiful one, from watching the structures come to life to knowing that soon, these spaces will bring joy to so many families. We’re honored to play a part in shaping a more vibrant, enriching experience for zoo visitors, and we can’t wait for the finished look to be unveiled.
At We LIME Painting, we believe in making our community spaces as beautiful as they are memorable. This partnership with the San Antonio Zoo is a perfect reflection of that commitment, and we look forward to seeing the smiles on guests’ faces as they enjoy this new and improved giraffe exhibit. Stay tuned for more updates on this incredible project!
