Bucktown Condo Water Damage

LIME was hired by a condo owner to fix interior water damage caused by a leaking roof in Chicago’s Bucktown neighborhood. The ceiling above the back door entrance was noticeably damaged and the hallway had cracks in both the ceiling and the walls. The circuit breaker towards the back of the unit had missing spots of drywall and the ceiling soffit in the primary bedroom was chipping as well as in the primary bathroom.

The most important areas were the water damaged ceiling in the hallway and the cracks in the hallway walls and ceiling. We checked the damaged areas for structural integrity and found no signs of mold or mildew. For the cracks in the ceiling and walls we used a mesh tape and multiple coats of joint compound. Drywall patches were installed to fill in the areas around the electrical panel.

We then continued with our standard prep of all surfaces to ensure a smooth and consistent finish. After spot priming, we spot painted the repaired areas and did a final coat. This was the most efficient process as all colors were a match to the existing scheme. We did this by taking samples to our local suppliers and they used a laser to get a custom color to match the existing.

We worked with the homeowner to ensure everything was done to their satisfaction and completed within the week as they requested. As this was a quick turn job, the homeowner was delighted with the results. Contact LIME Painting of Chicago for all of your interior painting and home repair needs.
