LIME was contacted by Stephanie Kaslow Interiors to aid in finishing a fireplace in this stunning, two-story Lincoln Park Condo built in 2021. The design called for a Tambour look in plaster. LIME brought in their partner, Kelly Plastering, to accomplish the plasterwork.
Kelly Plastering took the dimensions needed for the molded flutes along with the provided print and went back to the shop to ensure everything was laid out correctly. Each section of the Tambour flutes was cast in 10” increments with the corners done in a separate mold.
The pieces were brought to the project site for installation after allowing for a proper cure. Everything was cut to fit on site, and after installation, the flutes perfectly landed at the opening for the gas fireplace. The screw holes and seams were plastered along with leveling the top of the fireplace in plaster to create a mantel.
After letting the plaster cure, LIME went back to the project to prime and paint. The project was finished with two coats of Regal Select in Eggshell tinted to Simple White, SW7021.
