For this project, we were tasked with restoring a home built in the 1890’s. The preparation on this project was intense! The home tested positive for lead, so all of the precautions required by the EPA were followed as much of the home had to be scraped to remove all of the failed paint. We provided carpentry services & replaced roughly 120 sqft of the shake shingles that had become very brittle. We also replaced the gutter system & added a curved miter gutter above the front porch. We sanded down their entire deck, removing 3 coats of old paint. We matched the beadboard ceiling on the porch by staining the freshly sanded wood with Sikkens SRD in Dark Oak. Last, we painted the home with Duration from Sherwin Williams & transformed the home in a wonderful shade of purple.
